How do I get my music on ipod and it's music in my itunes?

I have an itunes but I’ve never actually owned an ipod. My boyfriend left for fishing this summer and left me his ipod so I can use his music while he’s gone. However, now I have absolutely no idea how to make them sync right so when I remove the ipod it won’t undo the synced files..Any help would be wonderful! Thank you. I believe its either an ipod classic or ipod video, they appear similar to me.

How do you plug someone elses iPod into your iTunes without deleting all the songs on it?

My boyfriend had lent me his iPod and I would like to add some new songs to it. Unfortunately I can’t do this because when I plug it in it tries to sync the iPod with my iTunes library.

I would like to put some new tracks onto his iPod without wiping what he’s already put on. How do I do it?
